APRIL/MAY PLAYLIST

Thank you to all class members that have provided feedback about the new playlist, the new tracks and choreography seem to have been given the thumbs up by everyone in class with the top two favourites at present being the new Bhangra track and the Strip Tease.  Please keep talking to me about the songs and routines.  I am dedicated to finding the best music and innovative choreography for my class members but I need to hear from you about your favourites and what you enjoy dancing to the most!

ZUMBATOMIC LAUNCH – MAY 2012

We are delighted to be launching the children’s Zumba classes this month, ZumbAtomic goes live in Maldon at the Football Club on Saturday mornings and also as an after school club at Wentworth Primary School from early June! Please remember that the children’s sessions are managed by Essex Zumba Events (EZE) and the hotline is 07766 255 778.

I am currently taking more teacher training to develop my existing skills and will be offering a selection of Masterclasses this summer to give class members taster sessions on some specialisms, so watch this space for news about when and where!

ZUMBA BABES RECRUITMENT

We are starting to get enquiries from various organisations  who are keen to invite the Zumba Babes to their event to help with promotion and fund raising activities.  We are always on the look out for new recruits and remember you do not have to be THE best dancer, or young or skinny! But you do have to enjoy dancing and spending time with other class members.  If you would like to join the team please text Joani on 07787 512 617 or email joanistcliere@aol.com and I can provide you with more information.

APRIL 2012 UPDATE FOR ESSEX ZUMBA CLASS MEMBERS

 A huge THANK YOU to every one that attended the event, donated raffle prizes and or bought raffle tickets for our Easter Zumbathon. The Zumbathon was SOLD OUT within 7 days of tickets going on sale and the raffle offered some amazing prizes courtesy of many local businesses and class members.  We are delighted to confirm that we have raised £2100 for Brain Tumour UK and this figure will increase significantly once Gift Aid has been added to the figure! So well done everybody and a huge thank you to everyone that supported the event.

  ZUMBATOMIC LAUNCH IS APRIL 21^ST –

We are delighted to announce the much anticipated launch of Zumbatomic (Zumba classes for children).  Regular classes will be for children only, but parents are welcome at the Masterclass as this will then provide children and parents with the opportunity to see what Zumbatomic is all about. Zumbatomic is a fun based fitness class specifically designed for children and classes will be taken by Joani who will be assisted in the management of the sessions by the EZE Team. The classes will be divided into 4-7 year olds at 10am and 8-13 year olds at 11am at Maldon Town Football Club. Spaces for the Masterclass will be strictly limited and cost just £6 per child (one adult per child can join in the fun for free) this price includes a FREE GOODIE BAG for each child participating. Regular classes which will begin on Saturday 5^th May and run during term time only. Bookings can only be made with payment, register for Masterclass is open now.

AND FINALLY……..

It has been a spectacular year so far despite some horrible weather and a few technical hitches with sound systems.  All of our classes have continued to be well supported with a lovely positive energy clearly evident in every class and we thank you for your contribution to this.  Happy Easter to all of you with love and hugs from

OUR NEXT ZUMBATHON

THURS 29^TH MARCH @ MALDON FOOTBALL CLUB

Registration from 7pm and dancing from 7.30pm til 9.30pm. The designated charity for this event is Brain Tumour UK  - a charity close to our hearts because one of our class members lost her life to this terrible condition at the end of 2011. Tickets cost £10 and will go on sale in classes from Mon 12^th March, raffle tickets will also be on sale in class too. The theme for the night is Bunnies and Bonnets so please enter into the spirit of things and come as an Easter Bunny or make an Easter Bonnet. Zumba Wear UK will also be running a shop for us on the night so you can browse all the latest Zumba clothing. We would love you to join us at this event and we guarantee you will have a fantastic evening with all your favourite Zumba Fitness tracks plus much more! Kindly note that the Thursday 7pm Pilates class will not run on this night – sincere apologies to Pilates class members for this disruption to your programme.

PROMOTION FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES

We are keen to develop partnerships with local businesses, if you feel that you could offer a raffle prize for our fundraising event we would be most grateful and in return we will add a link to our website (currently at number one ranking with Google) and we will also publicize your generosity on our Facebook pages and in class. You will be reaching in excess of 600 local class members. To discuss this opportunity please speak to me after class.

ESSEX ZUMBA EVENTS – OFFICIAL LAUNCH EASTER 2012

Essex Zumba Events Limited (EZE) is our brand new company with a dynamic board of directors including Lisa Clampin, Kelly Beardmore, Jade Clark and me! EZE will take over management of all our Zumbathons, special events, and much more including the launch of our Zumbatomic Programme (children’s Zumba), Zumba Parties and Zumba in The Club! This development will not affect regular classes or management of current timetable, EZE will be managing everything else! We have so many exciting ideas planned for this year so watch this space!

I will be embarking on my Zumbatomic training this weekend, which means that I will then be licensed to teach children Zumba! Please note that these classes will run separately from the established classes as the content and material used will be more suitable and appropriate for children. Regular classes will be launched after Easter and we will be announcing dates here and on our Facebook Page first of all.

WELCOME BACK AFTER HALF TERM

After snow falls, burst water pipes, Half Term and Valentines day all causing a variety of disruptions to classes, we are pleased to announce that classes are running to timetable this week.  We would like to say welcome back to all our new or regular class members and thank you for your patience over the last two weeks.

THE NEXT ZUMBATHON IS THURSDAY 29th MARCH

THE COUNTY OF ESSEX LOVES ZUMBA!

This has been an amazing start to the New Year with all our regular class members returning after the Christmas break and more than 100 new people joining various classes, this has been reflected in class numbers where sessions are busier than ever and the atmosphere is electric! Well done everyone and keep up the good work!

FAULTY SOUND SYSTEM

Apologies to the Wednesday 8p Zumba class members who were in class when my sound system decided to go wrong, we managed to get through the class but it was not ideal so thank you for being so patient everyone. Also apologies for Thursday night class members because we had to cancel the evening classes as we had no sound system to use in the three sessions.  I am delighted to confirm that we now have an even louder system on board and the faulty system is being repaired and will be kept as a standby.

FULLY BOOKED CLASSES

We have been trying to establish maximum numbers for each class and this is not just based on health and safety guidelines are often higher figures for rooms than we might use, but our figures are based on a common sense approach to how comfortable the class looks at certain attendance levels. This means that as we move forward you will automatically be allocated a space in the following weeks class if you attended this week. If you did not attend but sent a text you will also automatically be given a place. However, if we have not seen you for more than three weeks and have not been informed we cannot guarantee that you will be able to participate in the class unless you text 07787 512617 to check beforehand. Please help to ensure that this system works well for everyone involved.

CLASSES START MONDAY 9th JANUARY!

We hope that you have had a lovely Christmas and enjoyed the festive break? Now its time to dust off your trainers and dig out your Zumba Fitness gear because we are ready to party from Monday 9th January.  Many of our classes are already pretty full so please check with us before you attend a session to ensure we have a space for you.

HOW DO I BOOK A PLACE?

Booking your classes is easy – you just need to text Joani on 07787 512617 and we can confirm availability and book your place for you. If you are attending a fully booked class please try to let us know if you cannot make the session, we do not charge to hold a place but we do need to hear from you so we can manage spaces efficiently and effectively.

DO I NEED TO ATTEND A BEGINNERS CLASS?

No it is not necessary to attend beginners classes, but these sessions are there for anyone who finds the pace in Zumba Fitness to be too fast or feel that more time is needed in order to pick up the steps and the routines, it is really personal preference and you are welcome to try both sessions and decide for yourself which is best for your fitness goals.

DO I NEED SPECIAL CLOTHING?

No most people come to class in general fitness gear, for example jog/track pants, trainers etc. there is specialist clothing that can be bought online but we suggest you try classes first before you invest in any clothing.

DO I NEED TO BE SUPER FIT OR A GOOD DANCER?

No, Zumba Fitness is not technical dance and you are encouraged to dance in a way that suits you, so you set your own pace and put as much or as little energy into the moves. The emphasis is on having fun dancing to some fantastic music and burning calories at the same time.

WELL DONE TEAM – AND THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Essex Zumba class members went that extra mile this Christmas and came out in full force to support our last Zumbathon of 2011. Our target for the night was to raise £1500 for Walk the Walk  and to our delight we eventually raised £2200 which is a tremendous result.  To follow our fund raising progress or to make a donation please click here.  I would like to say a huge Thank You to each and every one of you that came along and/or bought raffle tickets or made an online donation, we are also very grateful to the local businesses that happily donated raffle prizes in order to make our raffle such a success!  We thank you all for your support and generosity.

NEW YEAR – NEW TIMETABLE!

Classes are now closed for Christmas but full January 2012 Timetable will resume from Monday 9th January.  Please take a moment to check the new classes and any amendments to class times and give us your feedback.

WELL DONE ESSEX ZUMBA BABES!

The Essex Zumba Babes had a busy weekend with four performances in total, and they were all absolutely fantastic! On Saturday 26th we performed in Chelmsford High Street in order to help raise funds for Farleigh Hospice and on Sunday 27th we performed in the High Chelmer shopping centre to entertain the Christmas shoppers and also to launch the film Happy Feet. Everyone had a great time and quite clearly enjoyed being part of the Essex Zumba Babe Team! Video clips of the performance will be uploaded later this week so watch this space.

ESSEX ZUMBRA CHRISTMAS PARTY

I am delighted to confirm that tickets for the Christmas Party are SOLD OUT! This means we are moving ever closer to our fundraising target for Walk the Walk.  Please note that we are now selling raffle tickets in class at just £1 per ticket and there are some amazing prizes, so please help us to raise as much money as we can for this worthwhile cause and buy some raffle tickets when you come to class.
